With restrictions lifting in England for the stay-at-home order, the country is opening up for ways to escape your home office or even gain hotel status, some before hotels are allowed to open for leisure travel.
If your working conditions at home are unpractical, such as the school holidays, building works or a sudden failure such as losing the internet, working from a hotel could be a better option than renting an office space.
Most of the major hotel chains offer special work from hotel rates, and some will even give you status points or stay credit from booking a room for the day. The majority of the hotel chains have extended hotel status until the end of 2021. However, with hotels not open for leisure travel in England until 17 May, it could still be a problem getting enough points due to limited international travel opportunities. Booking a day room could be the answer.
Not only can you work from the hotel, but from 12 April the leisure facilities such as pools and spas can open in hotels. After a hard day at work or perhaps during your lunch hour, you can also enjoy the hotel facilities on many packages.

Bvlgari hotel London Suite Living Room
In London, there are a plethora of luxurious options. The Bvlgari Hotel London definitely offers the ultimate in opulent workspaces with their B.Business offer. With prices starting at £1448 for a Junior suite for one person, you get plenty for your money. As well as 12 hours in a private suite, you also get complimentary day membership to Bvlgari Spa London, incorporating a 25m pool and also the gym. A two-course lunch is included and refreshments all day to keep your caffeine levels topped up. For the perfect end to a stressful day, you can have an after-work apertivo, in the suite or when it reopens, at the Sette Bar included with your stay.
Hilton hotels offer a unique work from hotel package called “Workspaces,” which gives Hilton Honors members the chance to gain status by earning points and stay credit for their day office. WorkSpaces by Hilton are currently only available in U.S. and U.K. hotels. To book, customers can browse hotels at workspacesbyhilton.com and then call the hotel directly to book a room.
The specially adapted rooms include a room or suite with a bathroom, free standard Wi-Fi, and a comfortable desk and chair with a well-lit workplace. There are a couple of high-end options in London with some beautiful workspaces.

Dedicated workspace at Waldorf Hilton Hotel London
The historic Waldorf Hilton London has partnered with the innovative furniture design company Herman Miller to offer a new room type featuring a dedicated, luxury office space connected to an Executive Room. Most standard offices don’t come this well-equipped! The special package is aimed at a more extended stay rather than day use, with the minimum stay being seven days, but you do get breakfast delivered everyday! For those with specific ergonomic needs, the room is perfectly designed to adapt in many ways, such as a height-adjustable desk and a classic Herman Miller desk chair that can be customized in many different ways for the ultimate comfortable position.

The Conrad London St James also offers a similarly elegant working environment, but this can be rented on an hourly, half-day, or daily basis with day rates from £150. Workspace rooms have 42-inch T.V. screens with Chromecast, a large desk, and free Wi-Fi. Guests will also have access to the gym and concierge services, as well as an international media hub in the room, perfect for setting up video conferencing.
Over at Hyatt, they have rooms available for 12 hour periods from 7 am to 7 pm, perfect for those that want flexible working times. As well as discounts on food and parking, clients get complimentary bottled water and a selection of coffee and tea in-room. A unique feature is the in-room wellbeing options such as Headspace meditations via the World of Hyatt app and Headspace meditation and mindfulness exercises on guestroom T.V.s at more than 200 participating Hyatt hotels.
Like the other hotels groups, you also get access to the gym and pool, where available. With Hyatt, having Office for the day stays count toward elite-tier status, and you can even use World of Hyatt points to redeem for an Office for the Day package.

Desk at the Great Scotland Yard hotel by Hyatt
Hyatt’s latest London hotel opening, Great Scotland Yard, has contemporary rooms in a historic building that was London’s former metropolitan police headquarters. If you want to relocate rather than rent by the day, they also offer an extended stay package aimed at working from the hotel called the Great Relocate. Guests must stay a minimum of 29 nights to get the discounted rate and perks such as I.T. support and three hours of complimentary board meeting room usage.
Another more traditional option in London with great workspaces is the Hyatt Regency London – The Churchill, which also has a lovely alfresco terrace for after-work drinks when they are allowed to reopen in April.

Often a change of scene and the ability to be free of distractions at home can improve productivity enormously. With the reward of a wind-down in the pool or an after-work cocktail delivered to your suite, the increase in your output could be well worth the investment in a hotel workspace for a few days.
