New Hotel Coming to Downtown Coral Springs

CORAL SPRINGS, FL – A new hotel is coming to downtown Coral Springs as part of the new redevelopment project at the southwest corner of University Drive and Sample Road.

City redevelopment officials confirmed that the developer (Predesco Property Investments) of the planned commercial, residential, and entertainment complex, known as Cornerstone, has signed a contract with a hotel.

The name of the hotel hasn’t been disclosed.

The announcement about the hotel was made at last month’s Coral Springs Community Redevelopment Agency meeting.

It’s the latest confirmed occupant for Cornerstone which is expected to start going up later this year in the space now occupied by the Coral Springs Financial Plaza building. The plaza is expected to be demolished, piece by piece, in the coming weeks.

Also confirmed for the complex will be a medical company that plans to use 100,000-square-feet of space.

In the past, city officials have said they expect the hotel at Cornerstone to have 125 rooms.

In addition to a hotel, the initial plans for Cornerstone included 352 luxury apartments, eight restaurants/pubs, entertainment businesses, and roughly 200,000-square-feet of new office space.

Coral Springs officials hope Cornerstone will serve as a magnet for drawing crowds to a mostly sleepy downtown.

Across from Cornerstone, another downtown development is also moving ahead.

Village Square will be on the northwest side of University Drive and Sample Road and will have a grocer, retails shops, and apartments.
