This was the last time she was seen alive, and then disappeared leaving her possessions in her hotel room.
A month later she was discovered in a water tank on the roof of the hotel, after hotel guests complained of bad water pressure and dark water in their drinks. The coroner’s report revealed Elisa died of an accidental drowning.
However since the case has closed a number of theories have circulated the internet, suggesting possible alternatives for her cause of death. Most notably because of the location of her death, the Cecil Hotel.
The Cecil Hotel is steeped in mystery and is infamous for a number of murders and suicides which have taken place there. You may also recognise the name from Netflix’s latest true crime series, Night Stalker, as serial killer Richard Ramirez stayed there.
