Disney’s Fort Wilderness Cabins to Open in July 2024

Disney’s Fort Wilderness Cabins to Open in July 2024

Adventure is out there for Disney fans with a passion for the great outdoors. The Cabins at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort will debut on July 1, 2024, the company shared with Travel + Leisure.

The Disney Vacation Club resort is a “relaxing retreat” set on the lush, sprawling 750-acre property of Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground, near Magic Kingdom Park in Orlando, Florida. This complete reimagination brings a refreshed, modern twist on the wilderness theme to its over 350 existing cabins.

“Set within a forest oasis of cypress and pine, retreat to your own private cabin featuring plenty of modern amenities and charming, convenient comforts,” Disney said. “Wake up to the buzzing of life and its endless fun, from poolside relaxation to fishing excursions to fireside sing-a-longs.”

The standalone, one-bedroom cabins will utilize the footprint of the existing cabins but are completely remodeled with a focus on energy-efficient features. These new spacious accommodations, which sleep up to six adults, will feature a bedroom, bathroom, living room, full kitchen, and a private patio.

Artwork brings a whimsical wilderness approach with playful pieces featuring Chip and Dale and nods to its former self. “Disney Imagineers are honoring the history of Fort Wilderness with design features that celebrate the resort’s early days and its four classic traditions; camping, canoeing, archery and fishing,” the company said.

A number of cabins will also be dog-friendly. Enhancements are also expected for the resort’s pool and walking trails.

Like all Disney Vacation Club resorts, this property will be open to bookings by the general public – but Disney Vacation Club members will have their first crack at it. Sales for The Cabins at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort will open to existing members on Feb. 1. Disney Vacation Club Members who have added on points at The Cabins can begin to book stays on Feb. 15, and by April 23 all Disney Vacation Club members can book online or by calling member services. Details for bookings by the general public will be revealed soon.

Disney announced that the cabins will open in phases with further openings expected for later in the month, and more throughout the year.

Guests staying at The Cabins at Disney’s Fort Wilderness can enjoy complimentary transportation to all four theme parks, including boat transportation to Magic Kingdom, and standout dining, like Disney’s iconic dinner show, Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue. The resort is a haven for the outdoors lover with a number of recreational activities, including fishing, archery, and equestrian trails.

This will mark the 17th Disney Vacation Club resort, including The Villas at Disneyland Hotel, which celebrated its recent opening.
