4 Ways to Redeem 60,000 Amex Rewards Points for Travel

You can get a lot of value out of 60,000 Amex Membership Rewards points. Check out these trip redemption ideas so you can plan how to redeem your points.

If you’ve been collecting Amex points, you may be wondering what to do with them. Sure, you could redeem your points for cash back, but that’s not the best redemption idea. Instead, you can transfer your points to travel partners and get more value. Since Amex has a variety of travel partners, there are many destination options. Not sure where to go? We have some inspiration for you.

And if you don’t quite have enough points amassed for a great trip just yet, take one of our recommended top credit cards into consideration. The American Express® Gold Card card comes with some excellent perks and is currently offering a 60,000 point welcome offer after spending $4,000 within the first six months. With that welcome offer alone, you can book any of these trip ideas. Here are four ways to redeem 60,000 Amex rewards points for travel.

1. Transfer points to British Airways and get two round-trip tickets to fly from the west coast to Hawaii

If you’ve been dreaming of visiting Hawaii, now is the time to do it. British Airways is a transfer partner, and you can get an excellent redemption rate on flights to Hawaii when flying out of LAX. It will cost you 13,000 Membership Rewards points each way, per person. For 26,000 points round trip, you’ll have enough to buy two tickets and have 8,000 points left over. When you go to book, you’ll notice that most of these flights are operated by American Airlines. As long as you’re booking the flights through British Airways, you’ll get this great redemption rate.

2. Transfer points to ANA and get one round-trip ticket to fly from the east or west coast to Tokyo

Perhaps you’d prefer to head to Japan? You can use your Amex points to head to Tokyo. You’ll need to transfer your points to ANA, which is an award-winning airline and another transfer partner. If you’re willing to travel during the low season, you can get some great redemption rates. For example, you can find a round-trip flight in February for as low as 40,000 points. Talk about a steal!

3. Transfer points to KLM or Air France and get two round-trip tickets to fly from the east or west coast to Mexico

If you want to take a trip to Mexico, you’re in luck. Airfrance and KLM are both Amex transfer partners. You can transfer points to either airline and book an affordable trip to your city of choice. No matter whether you choose KLM or Air France, you’ll notice that Delta operates these flights. You’ll find a lot of award availability for 14,5000 points each way, or 29,000 points for a round-trip journey. At this redemption rate, you can afford two tickets.

4. Transfer points to ANA and get one round-trip ticket to fly from the east coast or west coast to Argentina

Another amazing trip option is to fly to Argentina. While ANA doesn’t fly to this destination, they have partner airlines that do. Since ANA is a transfer partner of Amex, you can transfer your points to ANA and book a partner airline flight for one round-trip ticket to Buenos Aires for 55,000 points. Talk about a once-in-a-lifetime trip!

These are four trip examples, and each option is a great way to use 60,000 Amex Membership Rewards points. What are you waiting for? Now is the perfect time to begin planning your amazing trip.
